Martha Stewart. I love her and I hate her, but I subscribe to both Martha Stewart Living and Every Day Food. I also watch her talk show, her craft show and Whatever Martha, the show her daughter does. It's a daily obsession with the person I wish I could be. Hey, everyone has to have a goal, right?
So last night I made a batch of Raspberry Lemonade, the recipe for which I found in the latest issue of M.S. Living. I chose the make the adult version that includes tequila blanco. My tongue just about slapped my brains out. It's great as a cocktail or as just as a summer day refresher. So I'm posting the recipe here. A big thanks goes out to Martha. Go buy the magazine, you'll love to hate it as much as I do.
Martha Stewart's Raspberry Lemonade
10 lemons sliced (I only had seven on hand and that worked great.)
2 cups raspberries (I used a bag of frozen mixed berries. I microwaved them to thaw them out.)
1.5 cups sugar
6 cups of water
Put the sliced lemons, berries and sugar in a big pot. Pound the heck out of the mixture with the end of a flat rolling pin, or a large spoon. I used the masher from Pampered Chef. Beat it into submission, then add the water. Stir it all up. Put it all through a strainer into a pitcher. Beat the solids to get some more juice out of them and add that juice to the pitcher. Stir and serve over ice. If you want the cocktail version add 2 1/4 cups tequila blanco. I used Jose Cuervo. YUMMY! Party on......
